Province Moves Forward on Bedford Ice Rink Project

first_img A new ice rink project in Bedford is going to help localresidents skate towards a heathier future. A three-rink ice complex is now set to proceed on five hectaresof land near Duke Street and Highway 102. The province has soldthe land to a developer, Banc Development Limited. The project isexpected to be completed within a year. “The province is working with the community to create a wonderfulnew recreational facility, one that will contribute to ahealthier population,” said Ron Russell, Minister ofTransportation and Public Works, today, June 30. “It’s great thatwe can help.” “This sale of provincial land will give children moreopportunities for recreation and will improve the health of ourcommunity,” said Health Promotion Minister Rodney MacDonald.”Across government departments, we’re helping communities provideopportunities for people to be active.” TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS–Province Moves Forward on BedfordIce Rink Projectlast_img
