Burnley bid for ex-Arsenal midfielder rejected

first_img1 Nottingham Forest have rejected a £3million offer from Burnley for Henri Lansbury and told the Premier League side they have no intention of selling the 24-year-old.Sean Dyche has been desperate to sign former Arsenal midfielder Lansbury since the summer and believed he could take advantage of the turmoil at the City Ground to make his move.Stuart Pearce was sacked and replaced by Dougie Freedman on Sunday and Burnley were confident that uncertainty could help them sign the midfielder.But Forest have rejected two bids – the second of which would have reached £3m with add-ons – as they believe Lansbury will be vital to their lingering hopes of making the play-offs.And it is thought unlikely Burnley will return with another offer after being given a stern hands-off warning by the Championship side.
